These mods add all kinds of new monsters, animals, and other things to Skyrim.
The world of Skyrim is full of animals, some of which are friendly and some of which aren’t. However, they all live and breathe the same air that you do. It really makes the world feel full when animals run up trees as you walk through a forest or when a pack of angry wolves appear out of nowhere on the road.
But for some people, the number of things in vanilla Skyrim, which hasn’t been changed, isn’t enough. Some of the most committed players have added to the variety of beasts and enemies you face as you travel through this fantasy land. Here, we have picked out the best.
Wild Penguins
With this simple mod, you can find nice penguins in the north, where it is cold and snowy. It’s a nice feature that won’t overwork your GPU and makes the cold places in Skyrim feel more alive. In the mod’s description, the person who made it says that they made it because they are crazy about Antarctica.
These creatures are pretty tame, like most other animals. If you kill them, you can take their meat and fat to use as ingredients in new recipes. The person who made the game also gave the birds actual nests that can be found between Dawnstar and Windhelm. The base mod has pretty simple graphics, but if your computer can handle it, you can run a separate retexture mod. There, you can choose from five different kinds, such as the King Penguin or the Spotted Penguin.
Gelatinous Cubes and Voriplasms
Do you ever wish that Skyrim was a little more scary? Have you been dying to be a Ghostbuster in your mind? Do you want to punish all green apple Jello for all the bad things it has done? If you said yes to any of these questions, we have the right mod for you.
The Gelatinous Cubes and Voriplasms mod adds these two new animals to Skyrim, along with a few different kinds of each. Most of the time, Gelatinous Cubes live in caves or old structures, where they can eat organic matter. Voriplasms, on the other hand, are native to the Black Marsh, but they have been making trouble in Skyrim since they moved there from Morthal’s swamps. After you beat the two creatures, you will also have two new things to play with: Cube Slime and Voriplasm Slime.
House Cats
If you’re like us, you may have been unhappy to find friendly dogs but no cats in the homes of Skyrim. There may be a whole race of intelligent cat people called Khajiit, but that’s not the point. Are you sure there aren’t any? Which are a bit like dogs that look like people. Where did our cat friends go?
The House Cat mod saves the day, thank goodness. It adds collared house cats to all the homes and inns in Skyrim. If you go to the College of Winterhold, you’ll even meet a cat friend with a familiar hat who is one of a kind. Who is he? Puss in Boots is a cat.
Diverse Dragons Collection 3
Do you ever feel like all of Skyrim’s dragons are kind of… the same? Us too. Skyrim has 14 different kinds of dragons, but it can still get boring after a while! And once you get to a high enough level, it’s not that hard. You need a mod that adds new types and strikes to the dragon ranks to keep you on your toes.
This mod has been updated several times, and the latest and best version is the Diverse Dragons Collection 3. You will be blown away by the amazing models of these dragons, which will catch your eye even when they are high in the sky. This mod adds 28 new dragons to Happy Wheels game, in addition to the 14 vanilla types. These new dragons have 19 new skills and 16 new breath attacks. The Aether Breath move is one of our favorites. It stops all of your stats from regenerating. Here, players can’t go wrong if they want a challenge.
Bogmort – Mud Monsters Of Morhal Swamp
In vanilla Skyrim, if you go into a swamp, you might run into a few Mudcrabs and maybe one or two angry Spriggans, but that’s about it. The gray, hard-to-navigate scenery doesn’t help the adventure experience there, either. Enter: Bogmort.
The Bogmort mod makes the dead in the Morthal swamps start walking again all of a sudden. The creator has really thought of everything, including 16 different versions, the chance to get covered in mud and lose a benefit, new weapons and ingredients, and the ability to make a Bogmort Thrall if you’re smart enough to find the directions in-game.
The Killer Rabbit Of Caerbannog
In Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a famous movie from 1975, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table are led by an old sorcerer to the Cave of Caerbannog, where they find a horrible murder scene. When they look into it, they only find a rabbit, and they don’t realize how dangerous it could be. One person decided to make the scene happen again in Skyrim.
This mod adds the Cave of Caerbannog and all the bloody scenes from the movie to the game. The small white rabbit is, of course, also there. We won’t give anything away, but when you get close to the Killer, bad things will happen. The creator says in the description that this is just a fun homage mod and that you shouldn’t expect too much from it in terms of attack power, “just enough to leave [the rabbit’s] origin and nature open to discussion.”
